Dog Grooming Information

Brushing and combing

Powder Puff dog grooming aims to create the most calm luxurious salon experience for your beloved pet! To begin the process we start by bushing and combing out any nasty knots or mats that might be causing your dog discomfort. For a dog who is groomed and brushed regularly, this process is often a quick and enjoyable one.

The Bathing Experience

Our bathing experience offers your pet a beautiful wash in luxurious top line shampoo and conditioning products to spoil and pamper the individual needs of your little one. A soothing massage and a spritz of cologne will leave your pooch in high spirits. If your dog has excessive shedding, or you want to control the amount of hair on your carpet, we will offer a specialized Furminator treatment. This has been proven to reduce shedding by up to 80%.

But hey… its not all glitz and glam… for those pooches who are experiencing anal gland expression, we can also offer this service as an add on. This can have health benefits for dogs and prevent inflammation of the perineum or anus itself, and also leave your pet feeling more dignified without its tail between its legs!

Blow Drying

For our blow drying experience we use the i600 dryer/blaster which utilities the latest drying technology to direct a powerful jet of warm air through the coat. It has an ionic capability, which means the hair dries faster, with less damage and retains shine and vitality while blasting out dead hair and loosening any stubborn knots. The end result is a gorgeous fluffed and silky finish. For all our dogs we use our Happy Hoodies to ensure they are kept calm during the drying process. These help protect dogs ears and muffle the noise.

Finishing

Our finishing touches involve scissoring or clipping to tidy your pooches coat resulting in a beautiful upscale appearance . The styles and techniques used are usually done in accordance with the dog breed standards, but specific styles and cuts can also requested by the owners.

Please note: Although our groomers use extreme caution and care while working with animals, it is important to note that grooming equipment is sharp and animals can sometimes be unpredictable.Possible issues could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In the event that an accident does occur, the pet owner will be notified. Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one and in rare occasions some dogs may have skin reactions to a groom. This is why it is so important to advise us of any background history of your dog so our groomers can prepare for any challenges that may occur. Sometimes it is difficult to determine in advance whether or not a dog will have a bad reaction to a groom, but if such an event should occur, Powderpuff Dog Grooming cannot be held liable.
